A ticket brokerage based out of Chicago since 1989. This site uses Wordpress as its Content Management System which allows the creation of a “community of customers” using the built in user feedback/commenting system. The wide variety of open source documentation and plugins available to extend functionality is also a plus. This site is currently using around 15 plugins, 9 of which I created myself. I also heavily modified the control panel, the WP template, and some Wordpress Core files.

The first ticket broker site I ever built. Before this site, I was made out of cookie dough — afterward I felt carved out of wood. First I had to get a handle on PHP. Then how to use XML webservices to populate a dynamic site. Following that learning MySQL to store all the webservice data locally on my server. Then came CSS for design as well as search engine optimization purposes. The last part was learning the YUI javascript library from yahoo for the tab widget used throughout the site. 60,000+ dynamic pages later….. I thought I knew how to build sites before…. I had no idea .

One of the very first database driven sites I built for my friend John Lewis. His family owns land out in the Texas Hillcountry and he wanted to promote it as a bow hunting only ranch. No guns allowed. Apparently there are all kinds of deer out there as well as antelope, mouflon sheep, and turkey. He’s got a couple of motion detecting camera rigs scattered on the property to prove to himself, as well as to potential clients, that there is in fact a LOT of game out there. You can see some of these on the site www.contrarycreekranch.net

He needed a site where he could simply upload pictures into the different home pages. The backend control panel allows him to do just that. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. In the screenshots above you can see the basics of the control panel in pictures 2 through 4.
